New Hampshire families have never paid a state income or sales tax. That is a real advantage and one of the main reasons people choose to live here and stay. But that advantage matters only if the overall cost of living remains affordable.

Today, too many multigenerational North Hampton families—people who grew up here, raised their children here, and hoped the next generation would do the same—are being priced out. Rising property taxes and government spending are undermining the very advantage that sets New Hampshire apart.

I’ll work to control spending, protect the New Hampshire Advantage, and keep North Hampton affordable for the families who call it home, not just for those who can afford to move here.

State government works best when elected officials are honest about what they know, what they don’t know, and why they vote as they do. I will never tell one group one thing and another group something different. If I don’t know the answer, I’ll say so, research the issue, and follow up with you. You deserve a representative whose word means something. To me, integrity is everything.

I believe parents belong at the center of their child's education, not on the outside looking in. Three things I'll fight for:
Parental notification. Schools should have to notify parents about decisions that affect their child, especially health and counseling decisions, instead of keeping parents in the dark about their own kid.
School choice. Every family should be able to choose the education that's right for their child. I support New Hampshire's Education Freedom Account program, and the broader right of families to choose public, charter, or private options, not just the families who can already afford to.
Fairness in girls' sports. Girls in North Hampton's schools deserve a fair shot to compete and privacy in their own locker rooms. I support keeping K-12 girls' sports teams and private spaces reserved for biological girls.

School funding will be a major issue during the coming term. In North Hampton, enrollment and academic proficiency are declining while spending continues to rise. Taxpayers are currently paying roughly $39,000 per student, even as enrollment falls and few new families move into town. That trend is not sustainable, and something must change.

HB 1300-FN will appear on the ballot this November. I support this legislation because it would limit how quickly property taxes can increase as a result of school funding costs, giving homeowners greater predictability instead of open-ended increases tied to a shrinking student population.

I’m glad North Hampton voters will have the opportunity to weigh in on this important issue. Regardless of the outcome, we need to take an honest look at spending, enrollment, academic results, and the long-term affordability of our schools, always within the framework of what is best for our students and the taxpayers who fund their education.

Many people don’t realize that a State Representative also serves on the county delegation and has a direct vote on the county budget. That budget funds essential services, including the county nursing home, jail, sheriff’s department, and courts.

I take that responsibility seriously. These are your property-tax dollars, and every expenditure deserves careful review, clear accountability, and the same level of scrutiny as any other government spending. I will ask tough questions, insist on transparency, and make decisions based on what best serves our community.

North Hampton isn’t Concord, and it isn’t the town next door. It has its own character: working farms, a small-town feel, a coastline, and neighbors who know one another.
Decisions about how North Hampton grows, what gets built, and what our town looks like 20 years from now should be made by the people who live here, not imposed by the state or driven by outside developers.
I’ll work to keep decision-making close to home, so North Hampton residents, not distant officials or outside interests, can decide what stays, what changes, and how our community moves forward.

You should be able to see how your representative votes—and why—without having to search for the information. I’ll work to make votes taken in Concord and by the county delegation publicly available and easy to find. Accountability should be built into government, not dependent on filing a records request or knowing whom to ask.
